Programs & Committees
The Chamber has a number of volunteer based committees that work on issues important to the business community. Chamber members who are interested in learning more or volunteering should contact the Chamber at 772-567-3491.
As the designated county agency for economic development, the Chamber provides leadership and resources to encourage a healthy local economy through the attraction and retention of industry. We work in cooperation with the county's government leadership and Economic Development Council, and at a state level with Enterprise Florida.
The Economic Leadership Alliance (ELA) offers businesses and individuals an opportunity to invest private dollars in our county economic diversification efforts. ELA funds are combined with county general funds and in-kind services to recruit, expand and retain industry in Indian River County.
As a founder of Florida's Research Coast Economic Development Coalition, we are actively involved in promoting the entire region through our partnerships with Martin County and St. Lucie County. In September each year, our Industry Appreciation Awards recognize local industries and employers and architectural accomplishments.
Community Leaders Program
This diverse group of community influencers meet to address common goals that will strengthen our community, our local economy and tax base.
Indian River County tourism is big business. The Chamber is the county's designated agency for tourism promotion. We focus on the attraction of quality, overnight visitors along with niche markets such as culture, destination weddings and reunions, sports, eco and small group meetings. This tourism function is funded by the county bed tax as well as in-kind contributions from the Chamber and visitor industry businesses and our dozens of volunteers.
Government Issues Committee
Through a representative group of members, the Chamber monitors local, state and federal legislation. They study, recommend and communicate Chamber positions on pending legislation affecting the business community to appropriate government officials and propose legislation when needed. They host public forums to educate voters, legislative luncheons and meet with local elected officials throughout the year to discuss specific items.
The Chamber's "Ambassadors" serve as liaisons between the Chamber leaders and our membership. They serve as welcome agents for new members at Chamber functions and make connections with our members throughout the year about upcoming events and activities.
Industry Appreciation Committee
As part of our existing industry activities, the Chamber recognize area businesses for their contributions to the community and/or economic impact to Indian River County.
Established Professionals Network (EPN)
EPN is targeted at those business professionals over 40 years old. At a luncheon once a month, EPN members hear from speakers who bring them valuable information to enhance their personal and professional development.
Young Professionals Network (YPN)
The Chamber's Young Professional Network provide professionals in their 20's and 30's with the opportunity to network with one another on a regular basis while receiving valuable information that will help them advance their careers.
The Chamber's successful Leads Group meets weekly, exchanges business information, builds lasting friendships, and help one another promote their businesses through business leads.
Leadership Indian River County
Leadership Indian River County is a community leadership program offered by the Chamber. The 7-session training program brings together a diverse cross-section of our county's residents for a hands-on, multi-disciplinary study of Indian River County. Participants gain insight into our county's infrastructure, natural resources, local governments and current issues. The program prepares participants for active involvement in public and private sectors, and civic responsibility for a better informed and vigorous leadership with an understanding of county needs - now and in the future. Over 150 community leaders have graduated from the program since 2006.
Action Alert Program
The Chamber "Action Alert" program immediately warns over 4,500 community leaders and business people of the urgent threat from robberies and other business crimes. The effort, organized by our Chamber, is a partnership of the Chamber and local law enforcement agencies.
Business Relocation Services
For businesses or employees relocating to Vero Beach and Indian River County, the Chamber provides hands-on assistance to familiarize them with real estate, services, schools, the medical community, local government agencies, community organizations, recreation and cultural opportunities.
