YPN - Young Professionals Network
The Young Professionals Network (YPN) of Indian River County offers monthly programs and events designed to give young leaders the opportunity to exchange ideas, grow professionally, and share common interests. YPN events are attended by emerging leaders aged 18 to 39.
Our mission is to provide Indian River County's young professionals with unique and valuable opportunities to enhance personal and professional development, while positively impacting our community.
YPN is funded by annual dues, which allow us to offer monthly programs to our participants. The annual cost for YPN participation is $50 per year for Chamber Member companies, and $60 for Non-Chamber Member Companies. YPN events range from $5 to $15 per event, depending on the scope of the event.

Business Spotlight : Senior Resource Association
Layla Fortune serves as the Volunteer Coordinator for Meals on Wheels at Senior Resource Association (SRA). Welcomed into the SRA family on January 20, Layla swiftly embraced her role after relocating from her hometown of Cape Town, South Africa.
A 2023 graduate of Edgemead High School in Cape Town, Layla brings a unique touch to her position. A notable accomplishment is her attainment of the highest level of excellence as a Ranger in the Girl Scouts equivalent in South Africa, where she mastered the art of tying all 19 crossing knots.
Eager to embark on her full-time professional journey, Layla chose to make her debut with Senior Resource Association. In her role, Layla efficiently coordinates the schedules of more than 200 Meals on Wheels volunteer drivers by demonstrating exceptional organizational skills and a commitment to the mission.
Since joining SRA, Layla has diligently pursued professional development. She completed the Food Safety & Training Certification with Florida Food Safety, achieved HIPAA-compliant training certification through Florida Department of Children and Families, and successfully underwent Elder Abuse Neglect and Exploitation-Mandated Reporting Training with the Department of Elder Affairs. Continuously accumulating new accolades and certifications, Layla has become a proud member of Meals on Wheels of America (MOWA) on a national level. She eagerly anticipates contributing to the annual March for Meals Campaign, raising awareness about senior food insecurity and community resources.
On the local front, Layla is now a member of the Indian River County Chamber of Commerce. Recently attending her inaugural Young Professionals Networking event, themed "New Year New Networking," Layla was honored as the first 2024 YPN- Young Professional Spotlight member.
Layla is excited to connect with other Indian River County Chamber Members. She extends an invitation to join her at the upcoming Silver Tones concert on Thursday, February 8, at 10 a.m. or 6 p.m., hosted at the First Presbyterian Church. Additionally, Layla will play a key role in organizing the SRA 50th Anniversary Volunteer Celebration this April. For those interested in volunteering with Meals on Wheels, inquiries can be directed to sravolunteers@sramail.org, or feel free to speak with Layla at the next YPN social event for more information!
