Making a better community for its people and animals by providing humane care and shelter for homeless animals, placing adoptable pets in permanent and loving homes, promoting spaying and neutering of companion animals, promoting responsible pet ownership and the respect for all life through humane education, protecting animals from cruelty, pledging to be advocates for animal protection.

Kate Meghji

Kate Meghji joined the Humane Society of Vero Beach and Indian River County in January 2019. Previously, Kate was the Executive Director for the Lawrence Humane Society in Lawrence, KS. Kate holds a bachelors degree in molecular biology and biochemistry from the Evergreen State College, and an MBA from the University of Illinois.

Kate is passionate about animal welfare and nonprofits, and has been working in the industry for 15 years. Kate moved to Vero Beach with her husband, Tony, daughter, and 2 senior dogs.
