To get ready you should prepare a 72-hour emergency kit with food, water, medications, and supplies; secure your home by trimming trees and boarding windows; prepare your vehicle with a full gas tank; know your evacuation zone and routes by downloading the Alert Indian River app or visiting Indian River County website; and sign up for the Alert Indian River Emergency Notification System.
