Leadership Indian River County

lead-er-ship ("lE-d&r-ship"):
the act of making a difference and achieving priority results through people; the ability to lead.

APPLICATION & SELECTION CRITERIA The most important factor in selection is identifying those individuals most apt to utilize their leadership for the long-term benefit of our community. Basic criteria for achieving this selection are:

  1. A sincere, demonstrated commitment, motivation and interest to serve in the community;
  2. Interest in seeking key volunteer, public office, board, or commission leadership roles;
  3. Potential or existing opportunities for advancement to top leadership positions within their own organization which in turn may play a significant role in the community;
  4. Agree to commit the necessary time and effort to complete the program and represent a cross section of the population.

INSTRUCTIONS (Important - read prior to completing application)

  • Complete all areas of the application in the space provided - Please, NO attachments!
  • All applications are subject to confidential evaluation.
  • If not selected to participate in the 2018 Leadership Program, you are invited to resubmit an application at a future date.
  • Applications must be received by November 20, 2017. Selected applicants will be notified by December 15, 2017.

The cost of Indian River County Leadership Program is $975 per participant if you or your employers are a member of the Indian River County Chamber of Commerce, the program sponsor and host. Non-member tuition is $1,125. This is payable no later than January 8, 2018 and covers the cost of orientation, meals and beverages, materials, transportation, and graduation ceremony for the seven-month program. The tuition may be tax deductible as a business expense; consult your tax advisor.

To successfully complete the Indian River County Leadership Program your participation is required at all sessions.

#5 Eco, Culture, Heritage - May 17th

#7 Human Needs and Services - July 19th
Graduation Dinner - Tuesday, July 24th
