General Function
To maintain and repair the equipment, buildings, and grounds at our Vero Beach headquarters and local satellite facilities. Under the direction of the Maintenance Supervisor, oversee and work on any maintenance-related projects, installation or removal of equipment, general upkeep of facilities, machinery, or equipment, and assist in operations/production as needed. This position will also include operating controls for our material handling system during the peak shipping season.
Mission
Ensure that all Indrio Florida facilities, grounds, machinery, and equipment are continuously inspected and maintained to ensure proper functionality, meet all safety standards, and achieve owner and management expectations.
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
- Mechanical downtime during production of less than 2%.
- Equipment preparedness.
Roles & Responsibilities
- Overseeing and working on the majority of minor maintenance projects.
- Sourcing and picking up parts and materials for maintenance jobs.
- Working with outside contractors performing jobs at the facilities.
- Driving company vehicles (pickup, yard, and box truck) to pick up and/or deliver materials, fruit, or equipment in the state of FL.
- Operate forklift, pallet jack, boom lift and other equipment as required.
- Identifying and assessing problems with equipment and determining if they can be fixed in house and working with repair technicians as needed.
- Maintain/repair/replace machinery, equipment and building fixtures at the Vero Beach Facilities.
- Fabricating custom parts, fixtures, stands, etc. during maintenance projects using torches, welders, saws, hammers, drills and other power tools.
- Operate system controls during peak production season.
- Assist the Director of Production on special projects including working at other facilities and agriculture centers.
- Assist in fruit receiving, warehousing and shipping as needed.
Education, Experience & Qualifications
- 5+ years working in commercial or warehouse maintenance required.
Experience or certification in the following is preferred:
- Automated material handling systems.
- Refrigeration, HVAC.
- Welding, carpentry, and fabrication – designing, fabricating, and installing necessary equipment or additions to the facilities.
- Interior renovation and drywall installation, finishing, repair, and painting.
- Hydraulic systems, motor, and pump repairs.
- Engine/drive train repair on forklifts, trucks, and high-reach lifts.
- Electrical – Repair/replace/install electrical fixtures, outlets, and lighting.
- Plumbing – Repair/replace/install, irrigation components, water lines, spigots, valves, drainage pumps, and interior plumbing.
Physical Demands & Work Environment
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts, and vibration. The employee is occasionally exposed to a variety of extreme conditions. The noise level in the work environment and job sites can be loud.
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear.
- This position is very active and requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, sitting, crouching, crawling, and climbing for extended periods of time.
- The employee must frequently lift and/or move items over 50 pounds.

The peak season for Indrio Brands spans from November through January. PTO blackouts may apply in peak season.
