• Adult Advocate for Domestic Violence Agency

    Adult Advocate provides crisis intervention services to domestic violence victims, such as: safety planning; in-person counseling, provide referrals to social service agencies; run support groups to educate victims about the dynamics of Domestic Violence; assist victims in obtaining Crime Victims Compensation and contact organizations, such as criminal justice or social service agencies, to get help or information for victims. An Associate’s Degree in Human or Social Services area is preferred or a person with two or more years’ experience in the field of domestic violence or a related human service field. Job related experience may substitute for formal education on a year for year basis at the discretion of the Chief Executive Officer.

    Physical Requirements:

    This position requires movement about the Shelter facility on an hourly basis, sitting at a desk for up to 5 hours, and using a computer. Sitting on the floor and / or playing outside with children as needed. Must be able to lift up to 40 pounds. Must possess a valid Florida Driver License and able to drive to outreach locations throughout SafeSpace service areas. Must be able to work flexible hours to include Days, Nights, Weekends and Holidays.
