Head Start Community Reads Week
Share your love of books by reading your favorite story to a Head Start class! Community members are invited to read at local Head Start preschools Oct 24-28 in Indian River and Okeechobee Counties When you were a child, did you have a favorite book that you wanted to read over and over again? Now is your chance to share that story with a classroom full of children. October is National Head Start Awareness Month and, to celebrate this locally, we are inviting community readers to sign up for this incredible volunteer experience! With just 15 minutes, you can unlock the power of imagination within a child, or even a classroom full of preschoolers. We have 19 classrooms at 5 Head Start Centers in Indian River County and 2 Head Start Centers in Okeechobee County. Each classroom welcomes a morning and afternoon community reader.
