Economic Development

Indian River County is located on the central east coast of Florida. We welcome inquiries from businesses seeking to relocate. Many businesses have located to our area because the president, CEO, or other C-level executive has visited here, recognized our unique environment, and decided to relocate.

Our ideal climate, wealth of recreational and cultural opportunities, wide range of housing options, and business relocation support make the transition a pleasant experience for everyone. If you have any questions or would like more information on establishing a business in Indian River County, please contact our Economic Development Director at directored@indianriverchamber.com or call 772-567-3491.  We can also send you our interactive "thumb drive" that offers a visual overview of our business-friendly environment.

Congratulations and Welcome to Parabel USA!  The company is constructing a $10M production facility in Fellsmere, anticipating 43 new jobs to start, 170 at full operation.  The Board of County Commissioners unanimously approved a Local Jobs Grant award based on new job creation.  Read the full story on TCPalm.com.

Economic Development Positioning Analysis
In early 2014, with recommendation from the County's Economic Development Council, the Chamber partnered with the Board of County Commissioners to conduct a countywide economic development positioning analysis and action plan - to better position our county for business development and expansion.  Ady Advantage, a nationally recognized economic development consulting firm, was hired to lead this process, with the completion of Phase I.  Please click here to view the final report.
Phase II of the action plan is now complete with development of a detailed target industry analysis; click here to view the presentation that was recently given to the county's Economic Development Council which provides a summary of the report.
A branding audit is now underway, piggybacking on the target industry study results.

Reporting
For the latest on business recruitment, retention and legislative activities, our Annual Economic Development Report for FY2014-15 (October 1, 2014-September 30, 2015) is available for viewing.  We also invite you to view the current year's marketing plan, submitted and approved as part of our 2014-15 budget.

The Chamber 's Economic Development office has upgraded its property search website, www.indianriversites.com, to provide more detailed information in the site selection process.  Additional layers, heat maps and city-to-city comparisons are now available along with a database of available properties and detailed demographic information.

The site uses GIS Planning's national site selection search engine, ZoomProspector, and Google Maps technology.  It provides immediate access to critical business intelligence that corporate site selectors and business owners need to make their investment decisions.
Call or email the Chamber's Economic Development Director to see how you can promote your property on this website:  772-567-3491 or directored@indianriverchamber.com.

The Chamber's Economic Leadership Alliance is an opportunity for our private sector partners to become more involved in our economic development activities. Investors in this program are the movers and shakers in Indian River County and Florida's Research Coast region. Investor dollars are used solely for economic diversification purposes - business recruitment, expansion and retention. Please join us in recognizing all of the investors in our Economic Leadership Alliance program - we hope you consider joining this group of business leaders!
