On the evening of March 10, 1922, a group of individuals met in
the city council chambers to establish the Chamber of Commerce.
According to newspaper stories written for the Vero Press, six
months later, thirty Chamber members gathered for dinner and
began their plans for the first publicity piece to promote the
area.Today, the Chamber
has grown to represent over 1,000 businesses and thousands of
employees. While providing promotion of Indian River County, we
provide our membership and the community with valuable and
timely information and services to keep our county competitive
far into the future.
We are a focal point for positive
leadership, commitment to progress, cooperation and partnership.
The Chamber's success symbolizes what volunteer efforts can do
to make a difference and enhance a community. It is a credit to
the many dedicated Chamber volunteers who help implement our
programs through their work on our committees and task forces.
